Metropol Palace Hotel is located at the heart of Belgrade, on Bulevar kralja Aleksandra, one of the longest streets in the city, overlooking the Tasmajdan park. The Hotel is in the Old Part of Belgrade, near the Parliament, the Church of Sv. Marko, and other city landmarks, and within walking distance from the shopping and pedestrian district (Knez Mihailova Street), old Kalemegdan Fortress and Park and Skadarlija – the old-style bohemian area of Belgrade. The airport is only 20 km away, and the nearest exit to the Highway is 1.5 km away.

English is the official language of the ESVCP 2022 ECVCP.

The Registration desk will be located in front of the conference rooms. The working hours of the registration:

  • Wednesday, October 5 – 14:00-20:30 (Pre-Congress: from 8:00)
  • Thursday, October 6 – 07:30-19:00
  • Friday, October 7 – 07:30-19:00
  • Saturday, October 8 – 07:30-12:30

All registered participants will receive congress material at the registration desk.

All lecture halls are located on the same floor of the hotel. Rooms for lectures are: Ivo Andric B and Lavender.

An identification badge will be included in the meeting material provided upon registration. There will be no admittance to the scientific sessions without the badge. Please note that a charge of 30€ will be made onsite in case of losing your name badge.

The Exhibition will be located in the conference room Ivo Andric A of the Metropol Palace Hotel. Exhibition hours:

  • Wednesday, October 5 – 14:00-20:30
  • Thursday, October 6 – 07:30-19:00
  • Friday, October 7 – 07:30-19:00
  • Saturday, October 8 – 07:30-13:00

Coffee breaks
Coffee stations will be provided in the Exhibition room – Ivo Andrić A and will be served according to the official ESVCP 2022 ECVCP programme.

Certificate of attendance
A certificate of attendance will be provided to all registered attendants.

The free WiFi is provided in all working areas of the meeting.

Visa Requirements
Visa regulations depend on your nationality and country of origin. We suggest you contact local Serbian Consulate for official instructions on the specific visa regulations and application procedures that may apply to you. It is the responsibility of the participant to obtain a visa if required. Please check here if you need visa and if you need a passport or you may enter Serbia with an ID.

Official Letter of Invitation
Official letters of invitation designed to help overcome administrative difficulties in certain countries will be sent on request. It must be understood that such letters do not represent a commitment on the part of the Organizing Committee or ESVCP 2022 ECVCP to provide any financial assistance. For an invitation letter, please contact enquiries@esvcp-belgrade.rs.

Airport transfer
For all information, please contact the city service TAXIINFO, located in the baggage claim area at Nikola Tesla Airport. At the airport Info Desk you will get the taxi receipt specifying the desired destination and the price for taxi service. That way you will make sure the taxi service is in line with the most favourable rate. Payment options: Serbian Dinars, Credit Cards and Euros.

City transportation / Taxi
There is a good public transport system in Belgrade. Most buses operate until midnight. Tickets can be pre-purchased from newsstands or in the buses. Taxis are usually available outside the Hotel. Approximate price from venue to City centre is 4,00 €-7,00 € per car.

Off-site parking, fee: 0.25 EUR hourly, 10 EUR daily
On-site parking, fee: 1.50 EUR hourly, 20 EUR daily

Before you leave, you need to void your ticket and pay at the front office desk.

Telephone Code
To call a foreign country from Belgrade, please dial the international code 00, then the country area code, the city area code (without 0) and, finally, the telephone number of the subscriber.

Time Zone
The time zone in Serbia is Central European Time (CET) (UTC plus 1 hour).

The Serbian currency is the Serbian Dinar (RSD). Credit cards (Visa, Eurocard, MasterCard) are accepted in most shops, and ATMs are widely available in downtown Belgrade. You can use Visa, Visa Electron, Plus, MasterCard, Eurocard, Maestro and Cirrus branded cards to withdraw money from an ATM. Belgrade ATMs require 4-digit pin codes.

As in most cities of continental Europe, the electricity voltage in Belgrade is 220 V. Electrical outlets are standard European.

Insurance and Liability
ESVCP 2022 ECVCP Secretariat and Organizers cannot accept responsibility for personal injury or for loss or damage involving persons and property either during or indirectly arising from the meeting. Participants are advised to make their own arrangements with respect to health and travel insurance.
